Long Roimata Koru

Long Roimata in greenstone with a koru carved into the body.The Roimata is dark greenstone with a some lighter Marsden flower towards the top on a natural ,plaited adjustable cord.

The koru is a symbol of new life, growth, peace and strength and imitates an unfurling fern frond.

Marsden Flower Greenstone comes from the Marsden area of the West Coast of New Zealand. The gold and white coloured variegation in the piece is called "flower" and makes this type of greenstone particularly valued and distinctive.

This pendant was hand carved on the west coast of the South Island, New Zealand, by Jeremy.
